So much news! So much press! So much new The Weakness digital 7"!

We here at In The Fridge are all kinds of backed up with news at the moment.

Firstly! Today is new digital 7" day, and this month's installment in the In The Fridge Leftovers Club comes courtesy of Cincinnati band The Weakness. Two exclusive songs! For free to take from the internets! HERE! JESUS TELL EVERYONE!
This imaginary 7" marks the beginning of all sorts of Weakness activity. Their full-length self-titled debut album will be available in early April, and three of its tracks will be available to preview in the coming weeks. To make things even more supremely awesome, The Weakness will be embarking on a brief tour of the Midwest in June. Dates will come soon! AH!

Good Christ, there's more. Those great folks from the Indiana Daily Student went and put an article about us in that paper of theirs. Read it here, or something! Unfortunately, the picture of our beautiful faces only appears in the printed version. Special thanks to Josh Kraus for being so patient with us during the interview.

Also, local Bloomington blog IndianaIndieIntern up 'n wrote a bit about us too. Special thanks to David for being totally awesome without us even asking.

There's more!! The Elegant Bachelors will be playing a solo-y acoustic-type set at Buffa Louie's (on Indiana next to Starbucks) this Friday! If you haven't already left campus to get drunk/kidnapped in Mexico, totally check it out. No cover er anything!

Also, Eric Radoux's "Credit" single is now available at Landlocked Music and TD's CDs and LPs for an absurdly small amount of pesos.

Other than that, check out our Leftovers Club Archive for previous digital 7"s. February is Eric Radoux, January is The Elegant Bachelors, and December is just ridiculous.

Welcome Welcome Etc!

Hello, hello. If you are new to In The Fridge allow us to introduce ourselves- we are a small independent record label from Bloomington, IN. Currently our roster of artists includes:
The Weakness from Cincinnati, Ohio
The Elegant Bachelors from Bloomington, IN
and Cosmetics from Bloomington, IN
Check them out on Myspace if you dare.

Both the Elegant Bachelors and Cosmetics have released EPs (The Elegant Bachelors- Room EP; Cosmetics- Lawsuit EP) which are available through mail order for 3 dollars each or 5 dollars for both- shoot us an email if you would like to purchase copies.

Also on the horizon is the release of The Weakness' self titled debut full length- look for it in early April. In addition to that, The Weakness are organizing a small tour through the midwest for this upcoming summer- look for dates in the coming weeks.

Finally, for those of you who like free music, we release a "digital 7 inch" on the second Monday of each month. Last month's release, It's Elementary, featured three punk and pop punk groups and is available for download here.
The next release will be available on the 12th of this month and will feature two songs by The Elegant Bachelors.

Thanks for your attention and have a marvelous January.

Happy Holidays From In The Fridge Records!!

Hot dog, it's almost 2009! We here at In The Fridge are currently busy with all sorts of nonsense during this holiday season, some of which actually involves music. In particular, recording for the full-length debut by The Weakness has been started and completed this week. Thirteen whole songs, bub! A "release" date has yet to be worked out, but the thing is seriously gorgeous. Check out this page or something to hear some older Weakness songs.

Stay tuned for the next edition of our once-every-second-monday Leftovers Club digital 7" on January 12! December's edition, the It's Elementary 7", can be downloaded here.

For a bit of a holiday treat, Cosmetics uploaded a cover of the Fiery Furnaces song "Bright Blue Tie" to their myspace page. How bout that?!

And of course of course of course the two EP's released earlier this year are available to take for no money straight from the internet!

Plaid Is My Power Color

Don't say we never gave you anything...
Since we uploaded the Cosmetics EP it seemed only fair we should make the Elegant Bachelors EP available for a little while.
Room Ep Download

In other news, in the coming weeks we are hopefully going to get a monthly digital 7" thing going on. That means, once a month we will post a free digital "7 inch" with two new songs on to this blog. Now, we must make it clear that we do understand that since these will be online entities they aren't actually 7 inches in size, but 7 inch sounds a lot cooler than "2 free songs."

Here's to smooth sailing!

I smell pancakes, but I can't find them...

Alright Alright Alright

We are In The Fridge Records, a magical amalgamation consisting of one part Michael Squeri, one part Taylor Peters, and many parts music. Michael Squeri comes Cincinnati, Ohio and Taylor comes from Greenwood, Indiana. Both now reside in sunny Bloomington, Indiana and comprise two thirds of the Bloomington band The Elegant Bachelors.

We have decided to start with modest goals and move forward. Firstly, we will release the Room With a View EP by The Elegant Bachelors (www.myspace.com/theelegantbachelors , available in Mid-September). After this we'll release The Savvy American EP by Thomas S, Michael Squeri's recording project (www.myspace.com/michaelthomassqueri , available by early October).
From there we will release compilations, host parties and shows, and continue our search for music that we enjoy.

We're currently looking for local talent, loud bands, quiet bands, singer-songwriters, punk bands, jazz bands, pretty much anything. We aren't limiting our releases to any particular genres, and we listen to pretty much everything. If you'd be interested in working with a locally focused, small-scale record label, drop us a line at inthefridgerecords@gmail.com.

More details on releases and shows will surely come soon.
Best,
ITF
